I worked in higher education until 1984 went I quit my job and went back to school to earn an Master of Divinity degree from Ashland Theological Seminary.
I was ordained at Calvary Baptist Church in Rio Grande Ohio in 1987. I pastored churches in Ohio and Michigan for a number of years.

tian, Bluegrass, acoustic folk, old time country, blues.
Favorite TV Shows: I'm married to a librarian. We read.
Favorite Movies: See Above
Favorite Books:Too Many To List. But I loved just about everything I have read by Thomas Hardy, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Leo Tolstoy, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and Soren Kierkegaard. With the exception of Lewis and Kierkegaard, I have not read the other authors for many years. C.S. Lewis I reread regularly and I always keep a volume of Kierkegaard close by. For lighter reading I enjoy murder mysteries.
Favorite Quotation:"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."
-- 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 (NIV)
About Me:
Married 37 years to Connie White who is still the love of my life. We have 3 wonderful sons and daughters-in-law, 12 beautiful grandchildren. In addition to being a "Professional Grandpa", I am currently serving as a volunteer chaplain at St. Francis Hospital--Bartlett. As far as I know, I'm the only white ordained Baptist pastor who voted for Obama. My politics and economic philosophy still tends to be considerably left of center.
